My Story...
After giving birth to my two children, I decided to embark on a fitness journey of epic proportions. As a way to lose the baby weight from back to back pregnancies I took up running and triathlons. As the weight fell off and I gained fitness, I found myself chasing PRs and climbing a top the age group podium. It was around this time that I decided to test my fitness in longer endurance events, specifically IRONMAN.
In 2016, I joined up with an incredible team of local triathletes who motivated me and pushed me to finish my first IRONMAN at IRONMAN Chattanooga where I placed 7th Place in my age group!!
While the original plan had been to do one IRONMAN and be done, I was inspired by my teammates and coach to see how much further I could push myself. I wanted to try to qualify for the IRONMAN World Championship!
In 2017, I raced IRONMAN Louisville and was just within grasps of that Kona spot with a 3rd Place Age Group Finish.
I knew I had it in me so I trained for another year and then raced in 2018 at IRONMAN Chattanooga where I was able to work my way through the field and finished 9th Female Overall and was 1st Place in my Age Group (30-34)!!
Training for IRONMAN events while managing a family, finishing up my degree, and working numerous jobs has been quite the endurance event in itself, but I am so grateful for what my body has allowed me to do over these years. I look forward to continuing this journey and am excited to go after the next big goal!!
